Voltz, which is now available on iOS, re-invents energy switching in the UK. It is the UK’s first energy smart- switching app which allows users to switch with a few taps on their mobile so they never need overpay for energy again.
UK households spend 5% of their total income on energy, with the poorest 20% spending 11%, yet about two thirds of households have never switched energy providers. Something better and easier than the energy comparison sites is needed to get the country switching. In conjunction with DECC’s announcement last week that switching times are being cut to just 17 days, Voltz will help to simplify the process and make it even easier for consumers to switch.
Voltz is designed for those of us who think energy switching is too much hassle. Registration takes just three minutes with no need to look anything up (so you can do it on the bus). Voltz then shows you EVERY available tariff from all the UK suppliers. All you need do is enter your personal details to switch for the first time on your mobile.
Voltz then alerts you when it’s time to switch again (or advises if you are already on the best deal), and because it remembers your details, you can switch again and again with just a couple of taps on your mobile. There is no need to visit an energy comparison site ever again.
Tariff information on Voltz is comprehensive and 100% impartial. Unlike switching sites, Voltz does not take sales commission from the energy suppliers.
Voltz has been developed by Simplifydigital, one of the UK’s fastest growing tech companies and the UK’s largest, Ofcom accredited TV, broadband and home phone switching service, Voltz is free to download and available on iOS, with Android users also set to benefit from February.
Charlie Ponsonby, CEO of Simplifydigital and founder of Voltz, said:
"It’s time to make switching energy providers a no-brainer. With the Voltz app, you can switch providers with a couple of taps on your mobile and the rest is done for you. It really is that easy. It is a money-saving genie in your pocket."
Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Ed Davey said:
"With switching times cut in half and new innovative technology making it even easier to find the best deal, there has never been a better time to switch. The market is getting even more competitive, so don’t miss out – shop, switch and save today."
